BACK TO LOS ZAFIROS FILM

DeStefano produced, directed & edited the widely seen feature documentary "Talmage Farlow" for The New Jersey Network/PBS. From 1989-1993 he was producer, director and supervising film editor on the long-running ABC/Warner Brothers drama series "Life Goes On". He is author of the plays "Providence" (Manhattan Ensemble Theatre, NYC 2004/2005) and "Camera Obscura." (Almeida Theatre-London 2002, Seattle Repertory Theatre – 2001).

He has worked extensively in Cuba since the early 90's as a journalist & photographer.  His photographic memoir of the island, “La Hora Magica / The Magic Hour – Portraits of a Vanishing Cuba” has appeared in exhibits in the United States, Cuba, Great Britain and Canada and can be viewed at http://www.lorenzodestefano.com/lahoramagica.htm.  (CLICK TO VIEW FULL LORENZO DESTEFANO BIO.)

Producer & Director of Photography - Thomas Ackerman, ASC (“Rat Race,” “Jumanji,” “Snow Dogs”, “The Muse,” “Beetlejuice”). In addition to his feature work, Tom has longtime documentary experience through his association with Charles Guggenheim Productions in Washington, D.C. He photographed DeStefano’s previous feature documentary, “Talmage Farlow” for PBS.

 

Editor & Post-Production Supervisor Sergio Palermo) Originally from Argentina and a graduate of the film program at Pasadena's Art Center College of Design, Sergio brings a great deal of musical and editorial experience to this project from the many documentary and performance pieces he has crafted in his ten years as a freelance editor. His technical grasp, high ethical standards and superb creative abilities continue to be major components in the success of this film.

 

Sound Recordist is John Austin of Miami . Over the past 25 years John has worked on more features, documentaries, tv movies, and commercials than he can count. A skilled musician and songwriter, his phenomenal field recording and studio work on “LOS ZAFIROS-MUSIC FROM THE EDGE OF TIME” sets the highest standard for documentary sound recording. John also co-produced this project’s SOUNDTRACK CD with Lorenzo DeStefano.

 

Associate Producer is Dana Graham (dana@loszafirosfilm.com).  Based in Los Angeles , Dana has been working on the film since mid-2001 in his earlier capacity as personal assistant to executive producer Randa Haines. His dedicated efforts since then range from Film Festival Planning & Development, Graphic Design, Project Outreach and Assistant to the Director.  Dana’s solid administrative and communication skills continue to be an important asset.
